    Language Notes and Explanations
  • "There's a lot of pictures" is commonly used in spoken English, but is grammatically incorrect because "pictures" is plural.
  • gotten: as past participles of get, got and gotten both date back to Middle English. The form gotten is not used in BE but is common in North American English; however, got and gotten are not identical. "Gotten" means to obtain something, as in "he had gotten us tickets", while "got" implies possession, as in "I haven't got any money".
  • Mario Lopez: an American television host and actor
  • to date= to regularly spend time with someone you have a romantic relationship with
  • gagging= (gag in origine soffocare, vomitare) a slang term primarily used by gay men in the 90s when something is so fierce you can't help but wanting to gag - here it means wanting very badly

Let's talk about Clint Eastwood son. There's a lot of pictures going around of Clint Eastwood son. His name is Scott. He did a photo shoot for "Town & Country" magazine. He's very handsome. Here are some of the photos.

This is him-- look at that. Yes, indeed. He's sailing around the world in search of his shirt. And I hope he doesn't find it. Oh, there's-- he looks like Clint, doesn't he? He's very handsome. And there's another picture of him with a girl on him. That's, uh... He's very handsome.

Anyway, these pictures have gotten a lot of attention, and here's another celebrity with an attractive son that I think deserves some attention.

I'm talking about my son, of course. And I know you're thinking, "Ellen, I didn't know you had a son." and for a long time, neither did I.

But he's here today, and everybody say hi to Rico, my son. Hi. Come on over. Hi. He's adorable. Wave to my crowd, Rico. All right.

Mommy doesn't want you to catch cold, so I'm going to give you a sweatshirt. You put that on, okay? Just like mommy told me. That's right, Rico, just-- such a good boy. So sweet and such a good boy. I'm so proud of you.

Mommy loves you. - I love you, mommy. - All right, all right. Go get mommy some tequila. Mommy's out of tequila. I can't tell you who Rico's father is, 'cause it's Mario Lopez, and he doesn't want anyone to know.

Would you like to date my son, Carmen? Well, I actually have a whole crew backstage that are probably gagging right now because he's so hot. - yes. - yeah, my gays would love your son.

Well, I'll have to check with... I'll have to check with my son and see which way he's going. Yeah, let's do that. Let's not decide for him. Let's not. No, it's his choice.

I was offering you up, and suddenly you're turning him over to the gays. I don't know... let's...let's let him decide, all right? Okay.
